Massage Therapy Level 3

Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ)

INTRODUCTION

This course was designed to equip 

students with the knowledge and practical 

skills required to operate efficiently and 

effectively as a Massage Therapist. It 

seeks to ensure students are not only 

theoretically trained but practically 

competent to function in the industry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To emphasize the function of a massage therapist.

  • To equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills to operate as a Massage Therapist.

UNITS TO BE COVERED



In order to meet the standards for 

this qualification, individuals will 

need to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Perform interactive workplace communication.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.

  • Plan and Organize.

  • Prepare clients for therapeutic services.

  • Deliver quality service to customers.

  • Carry out data entry and retrieval procedures.

  • Receive and direct clients.

  • Sell products and services.

  • Perform stock control procedures.

  • Maintain customer relations.

  • Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to beauty therapy treatments.

  • Perform On-site Massage.

  • Provide Swedish Massage.

  • Provide Aromatherapy Massage.

ASSESSMENT

 

Each unit will have Methods of Assessment which will include: 

  • Observation reports by the Assessor.

  • A professional discussion with your Assessor​.

 

PRE-REQUISITES

 

Secondary School Education or
CXC English Grade 1, 2 or 3.



INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACH

 

This course will involve a mixture of lectures and discussions.  To benefit fully, students’ participation in all aspects of the course is required.
