INTRODUCTION
This course was designed to equip
students with the knowledge and practical
skills required to operate efficiently and
effectively as a Massage Therapist. It
seeks to ensure students are not only
theoretically trained but practically
competent to function in the industry.
COURSE OBJECTIVES

To emphasize the function of a massage therapist.

To equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills to operate as a Massage Therapist.
UNITS TO BE COVERED
In order to meet the standards for
this qualification, individuals will
need to demonstrate the ability to:

Perform interactive workplace communication.

Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.

Plan and Organize.
-
Prepare clients for therapeutic services.

Deliver quality service to customers.

Carry out data entry and retrieval procedures.

Receive and direct clients.
-
Sell products and services.
-
Perform stock control procedures.
-
Maintain customer relations.
-
Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to beauty therapy treatments.

Perform On-site Massage.
-
Provide Swedish Massage.
-
Provide Aromatherapy Massage.
ASSESSMENT
Each unit will have Methods of Assessment which will include:

Observation reports by the Assessor.

A professional discussion with your Assessor.
PRE-REQUISITES
Secondary School Education or
CXC English Grade 1, 2 or 3.
INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACH
This course will involve a mixture of lectures and discussions. To benefit fully, students’ participation in all aspects of the course is required.
